Hi everyone! I wanted to take a minute to remind you all that you’re on this list and invite you to post your queries, questions, comments, data, etc. It has been said by Rootsweb that mail lists that aren’t active will be deleted. Let’s make sure this isn’t one of those lists!! Please remember the following when posting: Stick close to the topic of the list. Sometimes posts will go a tad off…that’s ok. But please no politics, no chain letters and don’t be rude to others. If you don’t like something that was posted please contact me at pcmom@aol.com <mailto:pcmom@aol.com> and I’ll look in to it. You all have a great day and start posting! :-) Dee List Admin
Hello. In going back through my email archives for this mailing list, I have been unable to find any geanealogy related messages distributed by this list, for over five years. The Rootsweb genealogy mailing lists appear to now be kind of working again, so, to resume use of the applicable lists, for genealogy research, would be good. Over the last three centuries, a number of apparently different BUSBY lines have migrated from the UK to Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere. To find some genealogical research resources available for BUSBY genealogical researchers, please visit the web page at http://busbygenealogy.net. -- Bret Busby Armadale West Australia .............. Hello - this is my first here. I am trying to trace my half-sister Kathryn Hilary WYER who was born in Scotland, 15 August 1943. I understand she was married to an Australian called Dom GOLLUM or GOLLAND. I appreciate that this may be a stab in the dark but any leads or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance. Kind regards Christopher Wyer East Sussex United Kingdom.

Can anyone tell me whether the records of these are available in Transcriber-allocated-number order? To explain: As I understand it, these records were transcribed by two Australians: numbers were allocated and the transcriptions were arranged in Surname - Forename order and put on to microfiche. The microfiche are viewable here in New Zealand and are useful because the age-evidence submitted by applicants referred to 1841/51 census records not now available and this evidence was checked/verified by officials. The reason I'm interested in number order is that this would sometimes enable a previously unknown maiden-name to be linked to a surname-of-interest. In the example below (from my spreadsheet) Mary McCollam is shown by number to be the maiden name of Mary Brown (mother of applicant John Brown) but in the fiche surname-ordered lists she would have been widely separated from the Browns. Brown John BtDl c x 5631 27 5 4 Brown David BtDl f x 5631 27 5 4 Brown Mary BtDl m m / 5631 27 5 4 McCollam Mary BtDl as m rx 5631 27 5 4 Bob Kane Wellington, NZ

Another suggestion for you Anne. There's a wonderful Genealogy Group called Rootschat.com - join up and you will find where to post your message and someone will help you. It is an excellent and very easy-to-read-and-find-anything Group. Let me know if you have any problems. Regards Sharon Thank you Sharon, I'll try that. Perhaps it is a matter of patience too - I just found registers for Knighton-on-Teme to 1851 which weren't available 12 months ago when I last looked. Best wishes, Anne From: Sharon <shazuren@bigpond.com> Subject: Re: [AUS-UK-LINKS] Parish records 1812 to 1837 To: aus-uk-links@rootsweb.com Received: Tuesday, 10 January, 2012, 12:34 AM Anne, I think you'll find that they haven't been transcribed yet. It's the same with a lot of Cornish records and I know that that is the problem there so would assume it's the same for UK. Not enough transcribers. Maybe you could contact the OPC and ask them.
