In the 1848 Census, he was recorded as the person in charge, householder was Her Majesty’s Government, establishment was in George St that housed 120+. George Fuller, in his ‘Recollections of L’ton 1836-1847’, mentioned William Jones residing in George St and that he was clerk at St Johns. This man was married in Georgetown in 1823, no info about convict status nor ship. In 1827 he was father of 3 young boys who were recorded in the 1827 muster of children in PD. William their father, was recorded as ‘had been prisoner now free’, as per Garry Wilson’s data now on Biographical Database of Australia.
