Hi folks, I was just saying to friends today, How I just hang up on those annoying election phone calls those of us  who are receiving them at the moment.  I  said I really shouldnt as they may be a family history call re dna. Well this evening, I receive a call, I nearly hung up as it was quiet the other end as usual with those calls and suddenly I realised it time it was different.  It was a call from Israel. regarding  a McArthur query I had made at a local home, after giving my phone number to someone who said his daughter in Israel was very keen and could help me. It just so happens her McArthurs come from Barrhead about three miles from where our McArthurs were working and living at the time of his marriage in Cambuslang and was living at Cathcart.  John and Isabella McArthur came to Tasmania with the Bounty Immigrant scheme, arriving on the Broomielaw in Launceston 31 March,1857.  So now she has taken the information and going to see what she can do with it, as I cannot find  our Johns birth or birthplace in 1828.  My original query with her father was, had anyone in his McArthur family, had their dna done, but none have as yet, so you never know.  So just  wait until they say a word or two before you hang up.
