Hello all ,                   i note the recent request for help regarding james REARDON , i have his brother Edward in my wifes tree , Edward born 1853 , was a batchelor when he married my wifes great aunt Mary Ann DOWER nee WALKER in Victoria 1899 , Mary Ann died 1918 , not surte what happened to Edward after that as he was a widower and a miner by occupation so could have moved around a bit . There is a death entry for maybe him in Qld 1910 but not sure about it . Any info greatly appreciated           Brian Johnson

Hi Brian On My Heritage there are quite a few family trees quoting that Edward Reardon, son of Bartholomew and Susanna Reardon died at Sorrell 10th June 1937. Also, Edward/Edwin's marriage. 1876 MARRIAGE Tasmanian Names Index Name: Reardon, Edwin Tasman Record Type: Marriages Gender: Male Age: 33 Spouse: Davis, Catherine Jane Gender: Female Age: 22 Date of marriage: 17 Jun 1876 Registered: Sorell Registration year: 1876 Resource: RGD37/1/35 no 717 Both death and marriage details for this eldest son Edward/Edwin indicate a birth year of about 1842, which would fit with the date of his parents' marriage in 1841. But there was another Edward (one of male twins, William and Edward, born on 28 September 1853 to the same parents). Was there a name change for one boy? Judy

I've just looked at Gravesites of Tasmania and looked at all the headstones of the Edward/Edwin Reardon's listed in the different burial grounds. He is not there. However, many say there are "X" amount of Unknown graves. I cannot find a Trove entry for him nor on Family Search. All the trees I saw on F.S. only gave his birth date, no marriage and no death. The only will on Tasmania Names is for an Edward in 1911. He is not listed in Millington's index. Perhaps he was buried in a Pauper's Grave - unmarked. Just to clarify, the eldest son of Bartholomew and Susannah born abt 1842-43 was named Edwin Tasman (on 1876 marriage cert. and 1916 will). The Mercury notice for his death in 1916 names him as Edward Tasman, but the funeral notice the next day has Edwin Tasman. So only one Edward, born in 1853 with twin William. Cheers Judy
