Liz, the Tasmanian Names Index has the death of an infant James Reardon, aged 15 months, blacksmith's son, on 8 February 1848 in Hobart. So born abt September 1846. The informant was the child's father, James Reardon, Macquarie St. James Reardon was a convict, and had married Margaret Price at Brown's River on 24 March 1846. So not the son of Bartholomew. Judy

Hi Liz James Reardon was born 2nd April 1848 Sorell VDL, married Elizabeth Rushforth 30th September 1873 and died 4th March 1918 at his residence 56 or 58 (hard to read) Weid St south Hobart, beloved husband of Elizabeth and second son of the late Bartholemew Reardon and Susannah Reardon and for many years an Officer in the Municipal and Tasmanian Police Force. Private Interment, Queenborough Cemetery. I have 11 children born to this couple. His parents: Bartholomew Reardon Born 8th December 1818 Sorrell, Tasmania, Married 4th November 1841 Sorrell, Tasmania to Susanna sorell Van Diemen's Land. He died 4th March 1886 Sorrell, Tasmania. Hi Liz, As it appears that James Reardon's birth wasn't registered that a search of church registers for a baptism may conclude the matter?
