Dear Listers We have a good friend from Sydney staying with us and I am helping her get her family tree going but struck a snag. Her maternal grandmother - Alice Jane Hughes married her husband Francis Dawson in Queensland 17/03/1899. They later relocated to Sydney. Our friend believes that Alice came out from Ireland with her family as a two year old. I looked at her death record Registration # 41781/1968 but no parent names appear. Both Hughes and Dawson are very common names in early Queensland. Can SKS please give me some direction as I am currently stumped. Thanks. Ian Turnbull
