Thanks Edie, I have wondered about a Divorce, but knowing she was very poor and husband gone, I believe she could have moved and changed her name, as did her Mother before her. I stumbled across a divorce for a family member similar time frame and it was very informative. It was online though. Maybe you could check both the areas She was living with her husband or where she settled if there are any Divorce records. Have just search divorce records from 1885 to 1897 on PROV- under Clarke and Clayton. No record.
