    3. Yes, Milford was right for the Armytages. George Armytages certsinly was a very hard working and astute farmer and businessman, accruing so much property in Victoria where he established his sons. The family certsinly rode on the sheep's back. One of the Peters girls married a Flexmore from the same area. Their son married my great aunt. Norfolk Islanders as were the Peters. I must check that again. The information you have that Peters might have been managing the property for George Armytages is very possible. Do you remember where you found that Dawn? 3. Hello everyone, Years ago I had a look at Armytage's land in Bagdad, suspecting part of it had originally been my ancestor's 50 acres, and I was correct, as can be seen from the article below. Ï am a descendant of William James Cockerell, who later owned the land I live on now, in Briggs Road, Old Beach, in the 1853 Wesleyan Chapel. "SURVEY OFFICE, Nov. 13, 1834. NOTICE is hereby given, that the undermentioned claims for grants will be forwarded for approval or investigation to the Commissioners appointed to examine into applications for titles to land, on the 13th day of December next, before which day any caveat, which must be in writing, will be received in his office. George Armitage, 154 acres, Strangford parish, originally granted to John Robley, George Robley, and William James Cockerill. - The Hobart Town Courier 21 November 1834" I am off to Vic. tomorrow, and will be away from my computer, so can't forward any documents re. Armytage after today, so if anyone would like the material I have on him, could they please ask today, or leave it until Dec. 17? Best wishes, Carol Brill. -----Original Message----- From: Helen Brown [mailto:peter-brown@bigpond.com] Sent: Sunday, 9 November 2014 8:50 AM To: Barry Riseley Cc: AUS-TASMANIA Subject: Re: [AUS-Tas] ARMYTAGE and PETERS Yes, Milford was right for the Armytages.
