Hi Tas, Looks like Ada's brother Charles Herbert Smith was in a bit of trouble for a larceny at New Norfolk and failure to maintain his family. Living at Macquarie Plains in 1917. There's a record for him and mug shot in the Hobart Goal prison records (top part burnt off!!) online - http://stors.tas.gov.au/GD63-1-4 go to page 5025. Does he look anything like the pencil sketch you have of Ada?
