    3. Adelaide Mary Blanche Smith was married to John Samuel Coleman at New Norfolk on May 2nd 1900 according to the usages of the Weslyan Methodist Church. Her residence was Glen Fern, age 21, occupation: gentlewoman, spinster. Birth-place: Newtown Tasmania. Father; James Smith, Farmer, Mother: Charlotte Smith. James smith and Charlotte Harris married at O'Brien's Bridge 1865 - http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD37-1-24p102j2k Children - Albert Henry http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-10-p466j2k Charles Hebert http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-11-p672j2k Charles Herbert (another ??) http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-59p850j2k William http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-11-p034j2k unnamed http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-9-p470j2k unnamed http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-48p029j2k I've helped Tas with this enquiry in the past and Adelaide certainly doesn't appear in civil birth registrations for the 1879-79 when she would have been born based on her age of 21 in 1900. Tas have you done any research on John and Charlotte Smith? If John or Charlotte had brothers and sisters in Tassie it went through my mind perhaps she may have been a child of one of their siblings, perhaps illegitimate? One possibility for the whispered rumour you had she might be adopted?
