Hi Barry I have not found any connection yet, other than the surname PETERS, between the Armytages and my lot. I did find that Elizabeth Peters was apparently the daughter of Mr Armytage's "servant" - farm manager or such. A marriage between two non equals viewed from this distance of time - but then, there was not probably much choice and probably she would be seen as "suitable" in other ways. I think the connection has to be back in England and before registration - I have not had time really to pursue it much further. I am like you! I think he was the owner of the Bagdad Hotel [now known as Milford Hall/House and recently restored as a private residence]. >From memory, the daughter of William FARROW, an exconvict, of Broadmarsh married a son of the Armytage family, and I have links to the Farrow family. The Armytage's seemed to have done well for themselves. I can't access the stuff I collected on them about two years ago but if you think there could be any value in the material for your purposes, I will look it all out. Best regards Barry R.
