Hi Listers, A bit of a follow on from a thread relating to Fenton Forest. I'm wondering if any has come across "Half Moon Neck", Fenton Forest?? I've only found 3 references to it in newspapers being in 1856 in relation to James Salter Sr. & Jr. plus a James Clark. The other in reference to a school being built by M Fenton and parishioners from Russell Falls, the Styx, Half moon Neck and other parts. The name suggests an area or point that a river flows around and nearly cuts it off except for an isthmus. I know of a couple of necks on the Derwent such as Triffets Neck near the same area as Fenton Forest but I can't find that particular one call Half-moon on any map I have access too? Cheers, Peter
