Could any one help with this name please Hilda Williams married John Thomas Goninon 1918 at Burnie His wife Hilda died 1928 with thanks to TROVE she had 4 girls and according to John T Goninons will they are Hilda Doreen of Somerset Shirley Dawn of Burnie Joan Ellen Fay of Melbourne Patricia Mary of Ulverstone Haven't a clue as to the where abouts of this family. Hi Elaine, which family are you looking for? The daughters married names are given in his will ie HIlda Doreen Stewart etc which should make it easier to find them. Have you searched the newspapers for deaths and marriages? for instance - http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/68965000?searchTerm=%22Robotham%20Goninon%20%22&searchLimits= is a report on the marriage of Patricia Mary Goninon to Reginald Thomas Robotham. Elaine - There is a chapter entitled 'The Goninons at Beaconsfield' in "Way back When - People Places & Events - stories of early days of settlement of northern Tasmania" written by Dot and John Beswick. Briefly, Henry GONINON and his wife Mary nee ELLIS were among many who migrated from Cornwall to follow mining, going first to Victoria and SA and in 1878 the family arrived in Tasmania, joining the Tasmania Mine at Beaconsfield in 1880. Dot Beswick is a great grand-daughter, has done a lot of research and helped organise a family reunion some years ago.
