Hi Edie, Looks like you need to find out where the Warwick Assizes records are. They are both under Ann BROOK on the Convict Records of Australia website: http://www.convictrecords.com.au/ regards, Meryl Yost, Launceston, Tasmania ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Administrator: AUS-Tasmania & AUS-Tas-Surnames mailing lists AUS-Tasmania Genealogy pages http://www.rootsweb.com/~austashs/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Edie" <eamca@bigpond.com> To: <aus-tasmania@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 30, 2014 11:36 AM Subject: [AUS-Tas] Ann Brooks trns 7 years and her mother Ann Brooks 14years per the "Pitt" Hi, Has anyone ever found what the crime was for these two ladies please. There is a lot written about this mother and daughter and Ann juniors husband John Cox, soldier on the "Pitt:", but what is missing is the crime and the records. I am happy to go after the records if they are not available I am presently putting the Cox family on my family treemaker. John Cox, Samuel and Mary Ann Lucas, Susan Cox and John Thomas Flood. Then the Flood family as their daughter Alice Caroline Flood married William Laing another line of the family. I would like to find the Trial account. Maybe there is someplace in NSW as they went to Port Jackson First, arriving 14th February 1792, "Pitt", then Norfolk Island before Van Diemans Land. I did send to the Archives Authroity of New South Wales 4th Feb 1985 they checked the 1811 Colonial Muster for Van Diemans Land and Norfork Island. Norfolk Island papers and the T.D Mutch Index to Births, marraiges and deaths and sent me the first six childrens births and baptisms. Nothing regarding the trial. So would be good if anyone is willing to share. I think this was more to do with John Cox than Ann Brooks though Ech of the children being Broks or Cox. thankyou for any help Edie McArthur
Thanks for that Meryl will give it a try.
