Hi Val, >From his army records (per the death notice Elaine found) Ernest Alfred AVERY was born about 1875, and was resident at 141 Patterson Street in Launceston when he enlisted; his wife was Ada, and they had one child, a daughter named Melvy/Melvie Pearl AVERY. All three were living at King Island following WW1 and received a pension. Ernest Alfred AVERY is buried at Carr Villa in Launceston - aged 53, buried 28 April 1921, Monumental Cemetery B7, no 293. At Carr Villa there is also Melvie Berle BUTLER who died aged 85 on 18 April 2011 (cremated), and Melvyn Pearl YULE who died aged 92 on 13 November 1992, possibly one of which is their daughter? On Colonial Families at Tas Archives, Ernest Alfred AVERY was born in Launceston in 1869, son of David AVERY and Hannah DAVIS (married Launceston 1865) - his siblings were Kate Elizabeth (1864), Alice Eliza (1867), Maria Ada (1873) and David Robert (1882). On the same index, Ada LUTTRELL was born in Hobart in 1872, the daughter of John LUTTRELL and Susannah EATON.
