Hi all, when a child was baptised in the early 1870s in particular, who stated the name of the father, and/or mother of the child. Did said father & mother have to be in attendance, or could another family member say, just take them along & have them baptised. Or could the mother merely state the name of the father? And did the mother need to show any proof of marriage? I have tried to gooogle this but just get The Lord's Prayer. ( Hoping someone can help Cheers Sally
I have a similar problem with a baptism in the 1870s. If possible can replies be sent to the list as this could help a lot of people who are looking for ancestors who do not appear on the Tasmanian Pioneer Index. Mine included.
