    1. Re: [AUS-Tas] Searching for Sarah Wright
    2. Peter Oakley via
    3. The Sarah Wright Ione is searching for was born circa 1819 based on her death age of 56 in 1875. Would make he marriage age a fairly young 17 in 1836 ( http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD36-1-3p42j2k ) so she can't be the individual from Norfolk Island. Interestingly her death is recorded twice in the civil registers. Once by her son Samuel at Ulverstone ( http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD35-1-44p183j2k ) the other by Constable Dennis Normoyale at Port Sorell ( http://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD35-1-44p148j2k ). Her burial details are out to in TAMIOT but that could be translation or a headstone carving mistake which gives the year 1881 rather than 1875 from the Forth Congregational Cemetery. Sarah Wright is also listed as free on her wedding certificate and at an age of 17 can't see her as FS convict unless she was a child transportee. Most likely a free arrival either singly or with a family group. 1. [AUS-Tas] FW: Searching for Sarah Wright

    3. Re-sending this post, as I think I may have had a problem with the address. Further to Peter's answer below. I actually had a notation of "1819 Norfolk Island" for this lady on my database. The BERRY family married into my MUNDY family. As Norfolk Island had been evacuated by 1814, NO child would have been born on the island after that date - or until the next settlement was established. I went back to my files and found that I had got the date and place of birth - which actually had a "?" after it - from a website in 2001. It had been compiled by a Lee Chambers. There is only one thing that may be of help. Lee had her full name as" SARAH FRANCIS ANN WRIGHT". I have just googled this name and the first site I found has her born at Exeter, Tamar Valley, Van Diemen's Land. However on the two different links, the parents are listed as GEORGE WRIGHT & SARAH "WRIGHT" on one. And: GEORGE WRIGHT & MARY JANE "WRIGHT" on the other. At least it is a place to start. Regards, Wynnette. -----Original Message----- From: aus-tasmania-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-tasmania-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Peter Oakley via Sent: Saturday, 1 November 2014 1:16 PM To: symonds3 Cc: AUS-TASMANIA Subject: Re: [AUS-Tas] Searching for Sarah Wright The Sarah Wright Ione is searching for was born circa 1819 based on her death age of 56 in 1875.
