    3. Thanks Judy, I think this is the paper in question, and the details you provided back up my shred of memory about the merger with the Austral-Asiatic Review. It means that I need to raise a new source reference for this "Tasmanian", as it is clearly not exactly equal to the "Tasmanian and Austral-Asiatic Review". 3. Pretty sure Judy has hit it on the head. A later version appears as "The Tasmanian" 1839 but its noted it relates to the merger of the "Tasmanian and Austral-Asiatic review" - http://catalogue.statelibrary.tas.gov.au/item/?subject=Hobart+(Tas.)+-+Newspapers&i=175&id=127279 I hope they get this funny little run up on "Trove" shortly. I recall using the 1832 editions to find trial details that weren't recorded anywhere else !!. They fill gaps where there may be no other source references at all. I want them to get the "The Derwent star and Van Diemen's Land intelligencer" up there as well even if its just for the significance of being the first Tasmanian newspaper - http://catalogue.statelibrary.tas.gov.au/item/?q=Derwent+Star&i=1&id=131045 Cheers, Peter On Sun, Oct 26, 2014 at 7:26 PM, Douglas Burbury via < aus-tasmania@rootsweb.com> wrote: > Thanks Judy, > > I think this is the paper in question, and the details you provided back > up my shred of memory about the merger with the Austral-Asiatic Review. > > It means that I need to raise a new source reference for this > "Tasmanian", as it is clearly not exactly equal to the "Tasmanian and > Austral-Asiatic Review". > > Douglas > > On 26/10/2014 5:01 PM, Judy H wrote: > > Could be this one, Douglas. the dates fit, which isn't the case with > > others with similar titles. > > > >> From the Tas State Library catalogue: > > > > Title: The Tasmanian and southern literary & political journal > > Publisher: Hobart Town [Tas.] : Robert L.
