    3. Don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, Meryl, but this index is not as good as it could be. It still sends you to the old document viewer for some searches. Sometimes it goes to the actual page, other times to the first page of the document? It is annoying to have to remember to set the search to "all" every time when that should be the default. The search "within the results" is best done in the lefthand panel. The box top left doesn't do anything useful. The list needs to provide more information (such as locality) so that sensible choices can be made instead having to open every document to find the one required. This additonal infomation is available in many of the indexes - it was used for the previous search pages. Why label items with "given name not recorded" when "male/female" was used in the old index. Don't bother with the zoom button on the display - it jumps from full page to a single word with no steps in between. Use the mouse wheel instead. The thumbnail images are pointless and only serve to increase the number of pages to scroll through instead of providing a convenient listing. There is no difference in the number of items displayed between list and thumbnail views. Why isn't the document image full-screen? It could be twice as large. Click on the hyperlinked document reference and a full page version of the document viewer opens. Where is the help page to explain how the different functions work? It is possible to log in and save lists, but where is the registration page? Still, despite these inadequacies, it is much better - I have been able to unravel a series of relationships in the last few days which I could never have done in a reasonable time using the old system. -- Regards Mike Hurburgh --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
