    2. This is the book Chris. I bought it when it was $39.95, it is now less than $20 dollars https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=zdTaXM2PCMvgvAS6upM4&q=dark+paradise+book&oq=Dark+Paradise&gs_l=psy-ab.1.3.0l10.2925.7173..11521...0.0..0.190.2342.0j13......0....1..gws-wiz.....0..0i131.fxyGRHMUmBc Edie McArthur ------ Original Message ------ From: "eamca1944@bigpond.com" <eamca1944@bigpond.com> To: aus-tasmania@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, 14 May, 2019 At 7:45 AM Subject: Re: [AUS-Tas] Conditions on Norfolk Island 1840-1844 Dark Paradise, is a good book Chris. Cant think of the authors name, as I gave my copy to my son and donated another copy to our genie society. Brutal history, couldn't believe anyone could be so cruel. Book would be about five or more years old. Names a lot of convicts and mentions Alexander McConachie as being the most humane Commander. He came per "Augusta Jessie". While I have looked at the buildings which housed the men, I'm interested in finding out what their daily routine was, what sort of food they ate, medical treatment, Church services per denomination, how they were looked after if they were ill...what was life like! Adam Moore was there when Alexander McConichie was the superintendent, and presumably was treated in a more humane way. Would appreciate your guidance as to which books and articles I could look at.
