    3. I am a descendant of John Marshall and Eliza Ann Carling, the daughter of Alfred and Mary Ann Carling (Royal), immigrants on the Vibilia to Launceston in 1835. I have had no success in finding John Marshall's birth record. I was wondering if anybody can help. Sally Lewis

    3. Hi Sally, I note in the very early births of James Marshall and Eliza Ann Carlings children John is referred to as a Brick-maker - Caroline Lillias - https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-32p367j2k Thomas John - https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD33-1-33p523j2k There was a convict that arrived on the 'Eden (2)" who seems to fit the bill - https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON33-1-22$init=CON33-1-22p154 Note that Brickmaker in his qualification or trade appears to have been added later so it may have been a skill he developed while under sentence in VDL. He was convicted again locally in 1849 - https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON37-1-5$init=CON37-1-5 go to image 125 Might be the fellow your seeking... > >
