I think 1934 was when the road was first made but I doubt that it was sealed at that time. Anybody know for sure? Thanks to everyone who sent emails on this, I can only help by remembering that we arrived in Hobart in February 1960 and when it snowed, a couple of months later, we took the kids up to the top of Mt Wellington and the road was sealed then.
