Hi Betty, Not an answer to Annie Lyons but May Lyons is mentioned in the CENTRAL COMMITTEE FOR BOARDING-OUT DESTITUTE CHILDREN (SWD57) in 1896 as being boarded out to Margaret Hicks and her husband. Then goes on the recommend that as she has reached the age of 12 years she should be sent to St Joseph's Orphanage. Child resists the idea so they keep her boarded out until the end of the year. No reference to real parents just the foster couple....
