Dear All, I'm now back home and have located the relevant email from Mal Sainty regarding Garry's database, sent 13/9/2014. Malcolm wrote to tell me that "Garry was going to put all his database onto BDA but he did not achieve that before his most untimely death. However, with his family's permission we were able to rescue all his data. The problem is that we have to convert it from an old dBase format and then work out how he linked his datasets. At the moment we are flat out finalising a lot of new Datasets to go on-line in November. After that his Datasets are the next items to process, so I hope that at least some of them may appear on our website by the end of the year." Malcolm is the Secretary of bda online. I have been a member since the beginning, paying the lesser of two annual subscriptions of $25.00 (if I remember correctly), and even though the information is scant if completely missing on VDL at this stage, I've found some great new information on people I'm researching who spent time in NSW and on NI - it promises to be an amazing resource.
