    3. Dear All, Peter's email re the wonderful new maps online have reminded me of two queries I have - my step-grandfather, Henry Ernest Wright, descended from the Thomas Wright who had Wright's Mill shown in this wonderful map: http://stors.tas.gov.au/AF396-1-15 Thomas Wright moved in pretty illustrious circles, and "married well": MARRIED. - On the 27th of November last, by special licence, by the Rev. W. Bedford, Thomas Wright, Esq. of Liverpool-street, to Miss Ann Maria Warpole, who is a branch of the Orford family, her father being nearly [i.e. closely] related to the late Sir Edward and Robert Warpole, Barts.- Hobart Town Gazette and Van Diemen's Land Advertiser (Tas. : 1821 - 1825) Friday 17 December 1824." I have found stacks about him once he arrived in Hobart Town in September 1822, but nothing to indicate his British origins - can anyone shed light on who his family was and where he came from?. (I have all I need re. the Walpoles, of course, as they're thoroughly covered on the Net.) My other question relates to the identity of the man who sold James Mitchell, first postmaster, his house and land on the corner of Argyle and Macquarie Streets opposite Ingle Hall and almost a carbon copy. (It's now a hotel.) William Longshaw sold the block to James Mitchell for seventy pounds in August 1814, after Mitchell sold two allotments he owned in Collins Street to Thomas MacNeelance (sp.?) I haveWilliam Longshaw's marriage in Hobart Town, and the birth of a child, but that's all - does anyone know anything else about him? Any information on either man would be gratefully received, Carol Brill.
