Hi Susan The book you are looking for is probably A Drift of Derwent Ducks - not Notorious Strumpets which lists pre-1830 female convict arrivals.. A Drift of Derwent Ducks is about the female convicts who arrived on the "Australasia" in 1849 - and one of them was Judith Beaky (not Johanna). Judith's father, Michael, was transported in 1852. Is this the information you are looking for? On her father's conduct record, it says she was transported about two years earlier than he was, which makes it about 1850. I haven't been able to find her on the new Archives search site (which I dislike intensely, by the way, and which has some egregious mistakes), so this is a last throw of the dice. Unless she actually came to NSW. I'm pleading because I've pulled up lame and don't want to hike to the nearest library to look up Strumpets. Here's hoping, and thanks in anticipation.
