    2. Hi Listers Does anyone have any information on John and James Reilly and their families? Both were transported from County Cavan Ireland for stealing arms. They were convicted along with Peter Smith and the Gaffney brothers, Hugh and Francis. Any help appreciated. Many thanks Kate

    3. Hi Ken, Looks like Joseph Green got himself in a real pickle between his wife, Charlotte and Martha Winch. Can tell you he must have been a "free" person in the sense that he had served his time as a convict. On the 10 Aug 1861 Martha Winch laid an information against him for not paying maintenance on his illegitimate child. The article is in the Mercury of that date. If you track it in the Hobart lower court records here - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-28990-804-55?cc=1935075&wc=MJ25-829:1048366701,1048404301,1048414301 After his name is FS - so he was free by servitude. Only a few Joseph Green in VDL pre - 1828 if he had a typical seven year sentence and married in 1835.
