    3. Hi Sharon, Registration of the marriage, Surname: HORSFALL: JOHN WILLIAM : POWELL; : FLORENCE VICTORIA Date: 1910-12-15 Place: HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, LAUNCESTON Registration Year: 1910 Registration Number: 740. death? - there are only 4 Horsfall regs on the disc, no death for John, NOR a marriage for Florence Elizabeth & George Gregory? do not appear to be any births to her & Gregory either. Or to Horsfall. Sorry not much help, have tried variations on name for Horsfall but can't think of many . AAHA, having read further in the wedding announcement it seems the happy couple were leaving to live in Melbourne where he probably died. The death article was from a cable received at Launceston. I would check whether the lady living with Mr Gregory in 1919 was the actual one here, unless they married in Victoria. Can't help there as I only have the Tas discs. 3. Hi Jill, I guess the concrete evidence that he didn't stay in Tasmania is the departure listing on the Peri for him on the 16 June 1850 for Adelaide. Go to this link - http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?search=2 Enter his name you will see the entry recorded in POL220/1/1 p237. Click on that and it will bring up that volume online scroll to page 237 and then you can download a copy of the page if you wish. 3. Good morning Before I begin with my Question - I want to say I have all the records for this man So please do not waste your time for me. What I do need is someone to prove to me this Samuel NELSON born around 1815 -1816 Sent over to Tas on the Arson in 1844 as a convict [I am not interesting in what others are saying on line I don't believe it] Did he stay and die in Tasmania Or is he the one who went to South Australia as everyone is saying There are two entries for Samuel Nelson in the Biographical Index of South Australian that have the same man twice marrying Maria TUNNEY - One they have coming to SA on the ship Peri from Tasmania the other just appeared? This is what I know He was according to the UK Hulk Records - age 28 years in 1843 - makes him Born 1815 He was age 28 years in 1844 when he was tried was shipped out to Tasmania - makes him Born: 1816 He was 28 years old when he married in 1851 in South Australia - makes him Born 1823 When he died in 1890 they say he was 71 years old - makes him Born 1819 Online people are saying he was born in 1829 - now is this is so then he served 6 years in the army and was missing for 3 years which makes him 11 years old when he joined? I know they took boys as drummer boy ect but his all dose not add up He was a Boatsman - and Labourer elsewhere- listed as trade on his convict papers After all that can anyone tell me if a Samuel NELSON born between 1815 - 1829 - die in Tasmania after he got his ticket of leave in 1847 Did this convict marry in Tasmania? Whew? I hope you can understand this Thankyou for reading this far Jill [ARNOLD] MORLEY .....,'~._|\, ,/Australia\ \_,-----\*,_,/ .............*...

    1. [AUS-Tas] sorting out the Parry & O'Brien family children
    2. Elaine Hanford via
    3. Hi, Listers, Hoping SKS can help me sort out the family of Daisy Parry who married James Thomas O'Brien (James O'Brien & Myrtle Parry TAS 0087/1908) and the sister of Richard David Henry Parry -- he of infamy in the 1924 murder case of Thomas Frederick Jordan with many, many articles available through TROVE on the various court proceedings, his appeal of guilty by reason of insanity, etc. in which both James Thomas O'Brien and his wife Daisy O'Brien (sister to Richard) gave significant testimonies. I have found the birth of a Daisy Parry born 29 April 1892 to Henry Parry and Ellen Davis in Strahan, TAS (reg no. 2580). There is also the birth of a Myrtle D Parry in 1891 in Randwick NSW to William E & Bessy Parry --- but I think is not Daisy Parry. I have found James Thomas & Daisy O'Brien in the 1922 Deloraine electoral roll. I have found Daisy O'Brien with Monica Ethel O'Brien (teacher) and Noreen Blanche O'Brien (typist - who was born 27 December 1908 per manifest of return sailing on the ship Iberia from England in 1958. James is in the 1914 Deloraine electoral roll but Daisy is not listed with him...perhaps because of her age if she is the Daisy Parry born in 1892. James Thomas O'Brien was born 17 September 1886 Hobart and died accidentally in 1930 when struck by a falling spar on the West Coast road, as his son James Thomas O'Brien, Jr., watched & testified at the inquest. The Inquest article reported in the Advocate (TROVE) on Thursday 27 March 1930 references that James Jr has two brothers and six sisters. The murder trial testimony reports in 1924 also refer to a young child of Daisy being in the Court. Other researchers on Ancestry have a number of children listed for James & Daisy...but do not include Monica & Noreen. They have James Jr as born in 1910. Unfortunately, their listings are not sourced. I've checked what Ancestry has available...and as many sources as I can find online ....but to no avail. I have James Thomas O'Brien's parents and grandparents. But need help with the parentage of Daisy Parry and the children of James & Daisy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! cheers, Elaine TAS Descendant in Reno, Nevada

    3. Thank you very much to Raymond Henderson and Mike Hurburgh who tactfully sent me private emails to say that the email about GREGORY family and M.I, referred to North Island and not Northern Ireland. Grovelling apologies for the error. It's good to have another of the miriad of holes in my knowledge plugged! Best wishes LucyAnn

    3. Hi List Robert Bain was born in Scotland in 1820. He married Isabella Anderson in Elgin Moray in 1838. On 28 June 1843, Entry #1554 for Births in the District of Hobart, Isabella gives birth to a son, Alexander. Then on 23rd August 1845, Entry #1232 for Births in the District of Hobart, Isabella gives birth to a second son, Robert. On both certificates, Robert's profession is listed as a Tailor. I was wondering if there's anywhere to look with regard to Robert and if he had a business or if there's anything about him in the history of Hobart. Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Cheers Marcelle
