I'am trying to verify the birth details of James Sylvanus WHITWORTH. Suposed to have been born in Hobarttown about 1847/1848. James marriage cert (Vic) in 1872 states that he was aged 24, bachelor & carpenter. His father was James WHITWORTH, Draper & his mother was Mary Ann DAVIS. James remarried in NSW in 1882, aged 34, bachelor, a musicial & his parents are listed the same. I have come across a large WHITWORTH family in Hobarttown, but no son by the names of James is listed.
