Country Church, Cloudeight Internet QuickNotes XIXHappy New Year to All! Not skiting, but I actually got into the census records. And yes, it's Wed 2nd Jan 2002 here in Oz. A couple of things I noticed and a suggestion or two for those who wish to use it. First, have a spreadsheet open and saved as 1901 Census. Put all your data in there, and sort it out later. Leave a couple of lines between different surnames as you download them, so you don't get them mixed up. Then all you have to do is click the 'save' icon. After doing a couple of person searches with no results, I did a 'surname search only' on an uncommon name. First thing I noticed was you have a choice of 10, 20 or 30 names per page. The results told me I had 1-30 of 211 names. When I got the first results page, first thing I did was a cut 'n' paste to Excel (or any spreadsheet).then saved it. I'll sort out the junk later. When looking at the info, first thing I noticed was a large proportion of entries had no occupations - 17/30 on the 1st page, 20/30 on the 2nd page. The 2nd thing, and probably more important, is there is no 'Relationship to Head of House' Column. I got to the 3rd page and somebody sent me a fax, which broke the Internet connection. The other thing I noticed was on the couple of occasions I ''timed out", when I clicked 'back', it took me back to the 'Search Form Entry' page, not just back one page of names. So I had to start all over again, (but going directly to the bottom of the page, as I'd already saved them to Excel), to click on 'Next' . Hope this helps those who are yet to get there. GOOD LUCK!!
