A Robert Ives was seemingly born in Co. Suffolk (I've been led on a Norfolk trial but that has been knocked on the head and now the other option is Suffolk). He married ???? an Ann Cowley or Ann Hoy either in Tasmania or N.S.W. - both states are used but no records to be found in 1852. They had a son named Robert Alfred born in 1853 in N.S.W. and another son James Joseph born in 1855 in Launceston, Tasmania. The family arrived in Victoria between 1855 and 1858 when the remainder of the children were born in the Fryer's Creek, Glenluce and Vaughan areas. Their names were : Walter John Arthur William David Charles Charlotte Ann John Thomas George Would love to solve the mystery of this man who left few if any records which reveal exactly who he was and where he was hatched from. He died on 30th June 1869 at Glenluce, Victoria aged 38 years so that gives his birth at c1831. There is also a possibility that he may have been of convict descent but again how do I prove this? Hope something rings a bell here. Regards, Leanne ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serendipity P.O.
