Brian a Henry Dutton died in 1820, Hobart Town, and been a sawyer, many years in these colonies. He died in consequence of a violent blow received on the head by a spade, during a fight. There was an inquest available for him. I don;t know if it was his ESTATE ADMINISTERED in 1835, or another Henry Dutton but the Hobart Town Gazete, 26th March 1835 recorded Henry Dutton, carpenter, late Hobart Town, administration of effects to widow ELIZABETH There was also a William Dutton who was a seaman, he was one of the first to Portland in Victoria. William had a brother Peter who died in Tasmania, and William was there also. William had relationships with several women, he sometimes is incorrectly listed as William PELHAM Dutton, who was a different man. all the best Jenny ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian McDonald" <brianm@ami.com.au> To: <AUS-TAS-SURNAMES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 14, 2002 1:30 PM Subject: [AUS-TAS-SURNAMES] DUTTON > Looking for family details on Charles Ambrose DUTTON born 1846 Hobart > Town, died Victoria 1922. > > Cannot find any birth record for Charles in the indexes but believe his > parents to be Henry (or William Henry) and Janet unknown.
