Subject: clock... if you like useless knowledge this is for you At 8.02pm on February 20 this year it will be an historic moment in time. It will not be marked by the chiming of any clocks or the ringing of bells, but at that precise time, on that specific date, something will happen which has not occurred for 1,001 years and will never happen again. As the clock ticks over from 8.01pm on Wednesday, February 20, time will, for sixty seconds only, read in perfect symmetry 2002, 2002, 2002, or to be more precise - 20:02, 20/02, 2002. The last occasion that time read in such a symmetrical pattern was long before the days of the digital watch and the 24-hour clock - at 10.01am on January 10, 1001. And because the clock only goes up to 23.59, it is something that will never happen again. Hi Everyone in Emailand!!! How I wish I didn't have to worry you all with this email but unfortunately there appears to be a serious problem with HOMESTEAD and today after 24 hours hard work and countless cuppas, I have got the page up and running again. The annoying part is that I have had to change the URL and so to help those of you who earmarked the page would you like to amend your listing with this URL. http://www.homestead.com/burtonwood22/GENEALOGY.HTML The previous one ended in INDEX.HTML I am so sorry to have bothered you but had no other option. Hi, I'm researching my husband's family and have a marriage in Port Sorrell in 1881 John BOURKE, 21 m Hannah SHORT 19 in the home of Mrs. Short, Green's Beach? (It's hard to read) They had 10 children that I know of, but only one appears in tassie archives, presumably because he died young. Family legend has it that Hannah had a twin named Susan, and that John BOURKE was born in Ireland, possibly John Francis BOURKE. I also have a marriage in 1855 Robert SHORT 26 m Catherine BAUER (sometimes BOWER, BOWES) 17 They had 4 children according to the archive, and Robert died in 1877. Catherine remarried - John SIMMONS on 18 May 1881 Catherine SIMMONS and George BAUER were witnesses at Hannah's wedding, so I'm assuming a conection here somewhere. Unconnected Trivia bits The only possible mention I have found of Susan is a Susannah SHORT m Samuel Henry MAWER in 1887 A Hannah SHORT was a witness in 1879 when Robert SHORT married Mary Ann HICKS. I'd love to hear from anyone with information on this family, or ideas on where to go next. I'm in Melbourne, and this is the first lot of Tassie research I've done. Yvonne
