There appear to be a number of people who have a tendency to use an address diverter for their emails. Such a practice, whilst it may seem easier, places an unnecessary burden on the list. By this I mean, quite often people fail to access their second or first account which causes mail to continually bounce. Sometimes this happens when people try to spam the addresses on the list, this does not work as rootsweb servers detect the diagnostics of the mail and bounce it. Invariably what the above tends to achieve is that in the end I must unsubscribe the WHOLE list and each of you must subscribe again under your preferred email address. As some of you may be aware, I have already had to do this once, it may be necessary to do it again. Listers There been several "posts" to mailing lists from subscribers and non-subscribers regarding installation of a product called "Spam Bar". It would seem the product sends out notifications automatically to everyone in the user's address book, including mailing lists. This product is designed for the purpose of blocking spam mail - but - is ironically using regular spamming tactics in it's attempt to advertise itself (how it mails itself to addresses). I will be unsubscribing anyone who sends a message to the list regarding the application "Spam Bar" ... they are no longer in control of their own e-mail facility. Hello, I am trying to find the death of Elizabeth RAWLINGS (nee GARNER/GARDNER). She was married to William RAWLINGS at Port Cygnet, Tasmania in 1845. Hello, I am trying to find information on James ROWLEY who was a convict who arrived on the "ARAB" in about 1821. I am trying to see if there is a connection to my gggg grandmother Sarah ROWLEY. Sarah was supposedly born in Tasmania about 1818 but I have been unable to find any record of her birth or mention of parents or siblings. I thought that if she was only 2 or 3 when she arrived, she may not remember and thought that she was born in Tasmania. Hello, just re-listing my interests. Thomas KING & Lilly KING (Nee Randall) parents of Emma Adelaide KING (B.Launceston 1887)& Albert Victor KING (B. Waratah 1889, D. Longford 1898). Emma had a child out of wedlock to a George HUXLEY. (Emma arrived in Victoria in 1911 for the birth). George HUXLEY was listed as a Grocer from Burnie. My research narrows down to a George HUXLEY, listed as aStorekeeper (Possibly a Grocer) in Burnie, this information is from 1911-1912 from both Walch's Tasmanian Almanac & Wise's Tasmanian Post Office Directory. George's last known address was "Farmers Association", Burnie, Tas. Anecdotally it appears that Lilly KING (Nee Randall) moved to Sydney in the mid 1910-1920, her husband Thomas KING either died or left the marriage in the same time frame. Emma KING seemingly never returned to her lost and heart-broken love in Tassie. Hi everyone, I am searching for any info on QUINN Patrick born 1824 in Ireland, and BOWE/BOE Catherine. They married 10.5.1864 Launceston. They had 7 children in Launceston. Would love to hear from anyone who knows of Patrick and Catherine. Arleen Marshall

Hi Ted Have you tried the Australian National Library,www.nla.gov.au? They have an amazing family history/history collection, catalogue and 'links' section. I did much of my Tasmanian research there.If you find it in their catalogue and it says 'no holdings here press Reading Room button' that will tell you if it is downstairs in the newspaper room or whatever. We are now in Queensland so I can't go and check for you, sorry. Do you have the library listing for the surgeons report? They are in one of the 3 volumes of Log of Logs. I can get that easily from my local library if that would help.
