Hello Everyone, I'm reading a book called "Penal Peninsula" and having recently noticed postings related to the wreck of the Hibernia I thought the following may be of interest to someone: "When he (Charles O'Hara Booth) learned that the men employed in the shoemaker's shop were doing private work when the overseer was not looking, he sought and obtained the appointment of a superintendent of shoemakers, the first holder of the position being James SLY, a survivor from the wreck of the "Hibernia" who took up his position in June 1833". Cheers, Marg Wise.
