    3. Thank you to all on the list who helped/offered help to sort out this young Irish lass with the 2 names. She came from the town of Enniscorthy in Co. Wexford ( the Kelly's home county) and was tried in Co. Carlow at the age of 17, receiving 7 years for larceny. She arrived in Hobart Town 1841 and was married to Roger Pitt a few years later. They emigrated to Geelong and went on to have 6 children one of whom was my grandfather. They moved to the goldfields in the 1850's and had children in Ballarat, Creswick, and Daylesford, which is a remarkable coincidence as two of my children were born in Creswick and Daylesford. Ann Murphy Quin Pitt died in 1872 and Roger subsequently remarried another Irish girl Ellen Curtin-Jones. They moved to Richmond, Melbourne about 1880 and lived happily ever after, or so I like to think. The Pitts were in Richmond continuously(?) for 100 years. Researching Pitt, Quin, Hodson, Amore, Stancliffe, Robinson and now Curtin, Jones. Luckily no Smiths. Regards and much thanks Les Pitt "Avoid delays: procrastination always does harm." Lucanus, Marcus Annaeus Lucanus (39-65); Roman poet.
