Can anyone give help or advice on tracing William Dixon age 31 and Joseph Dixon age 35 when they were sentenced in 1830 to transportation for life at Lincoln Assizes for stealing and slaughtering a sheep belonging to R Gosling of Skirbeck Lincs. Both William and Joseph (who were brothers) were sent to Tasmania aboard the RED ROVER in 1831. From information obtained at Lincoln Archives, Joseph Dixon died 1 January 1840, nothing about William Dixon who was my husbands ggfather. Any help would be appreciated. Am willing to do lookups in Notts or Lincs if possible. Jean Dixon
