    3. G'day, I hope I don't put you on the wrong track. At Bow Street, London, there was a Magistrate's Court, and the early headquarters of the Police, before the Metropolitan Police were created around 1829. Early Police were called "Bow Street Runners". Possibilities are that your gent's siblings were resident in the Bow Street area; or if there was a prison, maybe resident therein. In those days: town planning was pragmatic, and putting a prison next to a courthouse was a good idea. So, perhaps there was a prison of some sort in Bow Street at some time. If the word is "Boro", that would be an abbreviation for "Borough", but I can't offer any suggestions about that. ROOTSWEB has a London list: perhaps someone there can add something. The "w" could be an "ro" but I don't think so. Am I correct in assuming that they were in prison too, presumably not warranting transportation. If so I may have started to find the English connection for this family! Many thanks for any comments, Peter - NZ ( we wish we could give you our rain).
