I am researching the following convicts: John Hill Born 1823 Sentenced Old Bailey 1 July 1844. Transported "William Jardine" First offence stealing silk hankerchiefs at Clapham, transported for second offence of attempting to steal merino from a shop. Native Place Laurence Poultney Lane, City of London Ann Levy (pr name Dunleavy) Born 1816 Armagh Sentenced at Lancaster 27 Dec 1843 Transported "Angelina" Previous convictions, three months for stealing meat, three months for stealing shoes and transported for stealing two shawls Widow, 2 children, Margaret 6yrs, Thomas 2yrs. The children were placed at the Orphan School, New Town. John Hill & Ann Levy married at St Josephs Hobart 1848 and had four children Mary Ann, John, Elizabeth and Sarah Jane. John & Elizabeth died at a young age. Mary Ann Hill married Walter Charles Smith in 1876, St Davids Cathedral Hobart but reseach to date has not been able to trace the deaths of John Hill or Ann Levy or any information on the lives of Ann's children Margaret & Thomas Levy or Sarah Jane Hill.
