Hi June, According to the Convict CDROM there were 34 males by name of Townsend who arrived in VDL as convicts. None had the name Job. Plenty of James and John though. Next time I am in the archives (probably Thursday evening to do convict lookups) I will check in the permission to marry cards under the wife's name in case he was one of the above Townsends.
