Hi List I am searching for my GGGrandmother, Mary DOBSON. In January 1837 in Melbourne she was giving evidence in court and stated that "I was bought up in the family of Mr NIDYE in Van Diemans Land where I learnt to read, I was christened and I used to go to church." Mary was 21 years old at the time. Could someone on the list who has access to the Tasmanian Pioneers CD please look-up NIDYE for me? NIDYE could be phonetic spelling. I am trying to trace a connection and location. Mary was born in VDL. Also please see if there is a reference to a christening for Mary Ann Dobson or Mary Ann NIDYE.
