For those of you who may be searching for convicts and transportees, the following may be useful.The Public Record Office in London has: Ref: HO 7(2) Convicts, Miscellaneous (1785 - 1835) which includes deaths of convicts in New South Wales. Ref; HO 8(1) Convict Prisons (1824-1876) sworn lists of convicts on board hulks and in convict prisons with details of ages, convictions, sentences, health and behaviour etc.Ref: HO 11(5) Convict Transportation Registers (1787-1870) lists of convicts transported in various ships giving details of convictions. Overseas in Australia: Archives Authority of New South Wales, 2 Globe St. The Rocks, Sydney 2000.Much convict / transportation records. Write to them for details. Convict Records also at - Archives Office of Tasmania, Hobart. If you find any 'Chronicles' book at your library, this is a useful source for names. Bright Blessings Sandie
