Hi all, My only Tas convict is William Butt DRINKWATER Born Dec 1809 Churcham Gloucester Married Sarah at Cam, son William bapt Dec 1832 Churcham Tried Gloucester 11 August 1832 for horsestealing, sentence life. Arrived on the Surrey 3 April 1833 Married Jane HANNON (free)on 22 June 1840 in Hobart (witnesses were Letitia and Thomas FLUDE) Children Edward b1840, Sarah b1845, William Ernest b1847 William and Jane were both publicans in Hobart, in the 1850s. They separated in 1853. William spent some time in Port Phillip, possibly having two children with Harriet SHIRLEY, Amelia Harriet b1854 and Charlotte Ruth b1856. (Harriet later married Sanford William WALLBRIDGE in Tasmania on 27 October 1875.) William died 11 June 1867 Launceston and is buried in Cypress Cemetery Launceston. Cheers Jan Canberra
