    3. Hi Tony If no-one comes forward to help I suggest you email the Tasmanian Archives Office as they will have a huge amount of information on your convict which you will be able to get photocopies sent. The cost is about $23 Aus dollars for an hour's research. I think he probably committed other crimes hence his increase in sentence. The 2 after the ship names means a second voyage. check out the following site to give alittle more info on the ship, you will need to move the arrow on the bottom to get the captain and surgeon's names. http://www.convictcentral.com Go into convict shipping then Tasmania Search on "Tasmanian Archives" should give you that site, worth a check through the info and catalogues. I could get the bit out of the paper as we have film in the National Library but only Tas has the convict records. They give you a full body description, wife, children, parents, previous crimes, where they served on gangs, any trouble they got into, punishments, native place, a wonderful resource. Have you checked to see if his wife was also a convict? Ask the archives office to check.
