    3. Regardless of any law against convicts in Victoria (can you quote source) these are many precedents of Ticket of leave men and convict servants as well as runaways (absconders) in early Victoria. The first five servants of Edward Henty at Portland Bay were convicts. Regards Anne.

    3. Hi, I was just wondering what the servants names were that you mentioned worked for Edward Henty. My stepfather's family, the BLOOMFIELD's, apparently had some kind of connection to the Henty's - he was rather vague, though. I think they may have travelled from Tas to Vic on the same boat (or something like that). But I think the 'original' BLOOMFIELD was a soldier, not a convict.
