Hi Sharon. Welcome to the list. I am sure everyone will agree when I say that it does not matter how or when they got here when it comes to Convicts in Tassie. The important thing is what happened to them when they were here and what their story was. Presnell and Fowler were quite early arrivals. You do not say where they were - was it the Hobart area or Port Dalrymple? Do you know which ship they came on? I could not find either of them in Philip Tardif's book 'Notorious Strumpets and Dangerous Girls', which lists convict women to Van Diemen's Land up to 1828. Were these two in PJ for a few years and only came to Tassie after their time had expired? You have whetted our interest in who William's 'family' that came later were.
