Hello listers, I am new to this list and I am hoping you can help me find oout more about the several convicts I have in my family tree. To start off with: Does anyone have any connections to Frederick POINTON or his brother Henry POINTON who were transported to VDL in 1836-7 on Clyde, or their cousin William POINTON who was transported (vessel unknown at this stage) in 1834. They all came from Hertfordshire. Frederick married Louisa WRIGHT in Longford in 1845 and they had 10 children. Henry married Elizabeth mary ANDERSON in Hobart and they had 7 daughters. I have only just found out about the connection with William and have not had the opportunity to look up his family at all yet.
