Hello everyone. I have an ancestor by the name of Robert SPICK, who was tried and sentenced at the Nottingham Quarter Sessions in 1840, to 7 years hard labour. He arrived in VDL aboard the "H.M.S. Tortoise" 19 February 1842. He received his freedom 20 October 1847 . . . . and disappeared. He was aged approximately 40. I have been unable to locate any trace of him after this time. I understand that there were regular musters for ex-convicts - does anyone know whether this applied to convicts who had done their time as well? If so, is anyone in a position to look at any muster rolls for me? Or any ideas what else I can try . . . Any help most appreciated. Thanks, Beth
