    3. Hi Irene, Rather than send this to you privately, I thought there might be other listers who have interests in some of the people mentioned. I am sure there are probably more people, as know that the "Glatton" brought out free people as well as convicts. I forgot to mention to you that the HMS "Calcutta" was the sister ship to the "Glatton". Mary BELL/BILLS arrived VDL 1805-1807 Susannah CHAPMAN arrived VDL 1811 - 1818 Mildred HARRISON aka ROSE arrived VDL 1805 - 1809, "married" to William Williams, she died 3/9/1811 Hannah HUNTER arrived VDL 1804 - 1811 "married" to William Pigeon, living in Port Dalrymple in the 1811 muster. Elizabeth MURPHY arrived VDL aboard the "Sophia" on 5/2/1805 "married" to Edward Westwood, she appears in several musters mainly under the name of Elizabeth Murphy, the 1818 Muster of Hobart Free Women is the exception, in this muster she goes by the name of Ann Westwood. Elizabeth ROBINSON arrived VDL 1804 - 1811, living in Port Dalrymple, she appears in the 1811 Muster. Elizabeth STOKES arrived VDL on the "City of Edinburgh on the 2/10/1808 married to Joseph Jenders/Genders, she appears in the 1811 muster under her maiden name, later musters she is under her married name. The Tasmanian Convicts CD states she arrived to Tasmania aboard the "Janus" in 1804, this in my opinion is an error. Elizabeth HEMMINGS arrived VDL aboard the "Active" on the 9/3/1814 she is "married" to Thomas Carter, she appears in several Hobart musters under her maiden name although the 1819 muster tells us her name is Elizth Hemmings als Carter. It appears she had at least 4 children by the 1818 Muster. Mary HAYES, arrived VDL on either the "Integrity" or the "Pilgrim" on the 10/03/1804, wife of Henry Hayes, mother of Martha. After Henry Hayes death Mary married William T Stocker/Stockes (clerk to Rev Robert Knopwood) on the 27/6/1816 she was 46, he was 40. Ann MIDDLEBROOK arrived VDL on the "Buffalo" on the 10/11/1804, married in NSW to James Keating in 1804, she and James has a son by the name of William Dalrymple Keating, he was baptised on 10/3/1811, the same day Ann marries for the second time to Joseph Edmonds. Ann appears on various musters taken at Port Dalrymple giving her name as either Middlebrook, Keating or Edmonds. Sarah CLAYTON arrived VDL on the "Minstrel" on the 4/3/1813, married to William Clayton, she came free to the colonies, lived on Norfolk Island before she resided in Port Dalrymple. Martha HAYES, arrived VDL on the "Albion" 12/9/1803 "with" John Bowen. Martha has 2 daughters by Bowen, Henrietta born in 1804 and Martha Charlotte born in 1805. Martha marries Andrew Whitehead on 13/6/1811 and gives birth to another daughter Mary in 1813. Martha appears in several Hobart musters. William CLAYTON, arrived VDL on "Lady Nelson" on 1/3/1813 married to Sarah Clayton (see above). John GEE, arrived VDL on the "Active" on the 9/3/1814, married Phoebe McCluckey/McLackey 14/10/1816, he appears on the 1819 Hobart Muster of Convict Men as being "on" stores. Edward BARNES, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he marries Hannah Spence on the 24/10/1814. Edward died on 23/7/1817 aged 52. Edward Barnes appears in the 1811 Muster for Hobart. William DENNISON, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, William returned to Sydney early August 1804, he was only victualled for 36 days. John HARRIS, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 353 days John JACKSON, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 224 days. John JONES, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 213 days. Edward MONDAY/MUNDAY, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 36 days before he returns to Sydney. Edward pops up again, this time in Port Dalrymple, where he marries Sarah Haywood, a widow, on 18/3/1811. He appears in the 1811 Muster in Port Dalrymple. Joseph PURNELL/PARNELL, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 213 days. Richard WRIGHT, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 213 days. William WRIGHT, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he was victualled for 213 days. William HEATH als LANE, arrived VDL on the "Lady Nelson" on 1/3/1808, he appears on the 1811 Muster in Hobart. George HOPWOOD, arrived VDL on the "City of Edinburgh" on 2/10/1808, he marries Ann Sherburd on 27/2/1809. George and Ann have at least 3 children, George Thomas baptised 18/5/1812, John William born 28/8/1814, Christiana born 4/8/1819. The 1805 Muster of Norfolk Island tells us his occupation is that of a sawyer. He appears in the 1811 Muster for Hobart. William GARDINER, arrived VDL on the "Governor Macquarie" in September 1816, he married Hannah Sweeney in NSW in 1810, they had 2 daughters Eleanor and Florence. I haven't come across this man in any musters to date. Peter McGUIRE, arrived VDL in 1806, to work as overseer of convicts. Peter's family accompanied him on the "Glatton", his wife was Catherine Lennon/Lemon whom he married in 1793, children to arrive on the "Glatton" were Catherine (b 1795), Robert (b 1796), Mary Ann (b 1799) and David Isaac (b 1801). This couple went on to have several more children born in VDL Peter appears in the 1811 Muster for Hobart. Jacob Hacket MOUNTGARRETT, (Surgeon aboard the "Glatton), arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, he returns to Sydney only to be sent down to Port Dalrymple in 1804 with Patterson's party. He marries Bridget Edwards on 18/3/1811. Being part of the civil establishment, he doesn't appear on any Musters. William SUMPTER, arrived VDL on the "Pilot" on 28/9/1817, he appears in the 1819 Muster for Hobart Convict Men, he is listed as "off Stores". George BOSWELL, arrived VDL on the "Ruby" on 19/2/1812, the Convict CD lists him with an alias of Bosward. George appears on the 1819 Muster for Hobart Convict Men, being listed as "on Stores". John BOWEN, arrived VDL on the "Albion"/"Lady Nelson" on 12/9/1803, apart from retuning to Sydney in the early part of 1804, then returning early March 1804 to Hobart. He remained in the colony until August 1804. Thomas HOWARD, arrived VDL 1804 - 1806, he marries Elizabeth Mills ( a widow) on the 12/3/1811. Thomas appears in the 1811 Muster for Port Dalrymple. Joseph MARTIN, arrived VDL on the "Buffalo" on 4/4/1805, the Convict CD has him arriving aboard the "Union" in 1810. He appears in the 1811 Muster for Hobart. Joseph MARSHALL, arrived VDL 1805 - 1811, he appears in the 1811 Muster for Hobart, he was granted a Conditional Pardon on 25/1/1813. James DUFFY, arrived VDL 1804 - 1806, he appears in the 1811 Muster for Port Dalrymple. Joseph EDMONDS, arrived VDL 1804 - 1806, he appears in the 1811 Muster for Port Dalrymple, he marries Ann Keating nee Middlebrook on the 10/3/1811. Thomas GREENSMITH, arrived VDL 1804 - 1806, he appears in the 1811 Muster for Port Dalrymple, granted an Absolute Pardon 18/5/1813 William KELSALL, arrived VDL on the "Buffalo" on the 10/11/1804, he appears in the 1811 Muster for Port Dalrymple, granted an Absolute Pardon on 18/5/1813. James KEATING, arrived VDL on the "Buffalo" on the 10/11/1804, married Ann Middlebrook earlier in 1804 in NSW, I vaguely remember that this man was sent back to Sydney fairly early on. William EYRES, arrived VDL on the "Buffalo" on the 10/11/1804, no other information other than the fact that he was tried in Buckinghamshire in 1801 and given a Life sentence. Hugh McAVOY, arrived VDL 1804 - 1806, no other information apart from his trial in Lancaster in 1800, he was given a 7 year sentence. George LOWE, arrived VDL on the "Ruby" on 19/2/1812, he marries Norah Hern/ Honora Ahern on 21/2/1815. This couple have at least 3 children, James, b 18/12/1815, Elizabeth b 11/12/1817 and Mary Ann b 3/11/1819. He appears in the 1819 Muster for Hobart Free Men, he is listed as having obtained a Certificate.
