Hello everyone I have researched and written a book, 'A Drift of 'Derwent Ducks'', on the lives of the 200 female convicts transported on the 'Australasia' from Dublin to Hobart in 1849. The book comes with an accompanying CD containing biographies of the 200 women (Chapter 7). Both the book and Chapter 7 on CD are indexed. These indexes are available for your perusal at www.researchtasmania.com.au/ADoDD/indexes.htm (the page may take a little while to download). There are hundreds (thousands?) of names in the indexes, so you may find someone connected to your family history. The book will be launched at the Female Factory Historic Site on 29 November at 1:15 by Professor Lucy Frost and there will be an address by Tasmania's Premier, Paul Lennon, who has written the foreword for the book.
